Britney Searches For A Nanny

Saturday, April 15th, 2006

Pop singer Britney Spears is hiring two medically-trained nannies after her baby cracked his skull. The singer has spent days talking to specialist agencies to find 24-hour care for six-month-old Sean Preston.

He suffered a suspected fracture when his chair collapsed at Britney’s Malibu home.

The nanny caring for him woke Britney, 24, and a doctor was called. He found no problems. But six days later Britney rushed still-groggy Sean to hospital.

‘She doesn’t want to risk anything happening to him again,’ a source close to the singer was quoted by The Sun,as saying.

‘She has been looking for somebody who can recognise the signs if he becomes ill again,’ she added.

The insider added that Britney and hubby Kevin Federline, 28, were considering installing a sophisticated video surveillance system so they can monitor Sean while away working.

Britney Spears Needs Mom’s Help

Saturday, April 15th, 2006

Britney Spears has allegedly begged her mom for help after her baby son fractured his skull. The pop princess was devastated after six-month-old Sean Preston banged his head falling from his highchair.

The 24-year-old - who was quizzed by social services officials after doctors reported the baby was taken to the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles with head injuries - has now asked mom Lynne Spears to help out.

A source told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: ‘Britney needs her mom more than ever.’

‘The events of the week have really scared her.’

‘She’s a young mother and needs the wisdom of someone older who’s done it all herself.’

Britney - who sparked outrage when she was photographed driving with Sean on her knee earlier this year - and husband Kevin Federline have been cleared from any wrongdoing in the accident.

The star’s lawyer, Martin Singer, said in a statement: ‘While there was an automatic report by the hospital to the Department of Children and Family Services, DCFS immediately responded and determined there was no problem and no reason to open a formal investigation.’

‘They determined that the parents were not involved in any injury and that nothing improper was done within the home.’

Federline To Charm School If Britney Spears Gets Her Way

Saturday, April 15th, 2006

Britney Spears has been called fat, a has-been and white trash. Truth be told, Britney Spears is none of the aforementioned in the eyes of her public. She’s gold. When she mounts her comeback in full-effect, it will dwarf Mimi’s Emancipation.

She’s the epitome of the southern belle in the eyes of young girls all around the world and just like every other young girl, Britney Spears dreamed of a Prince Charming who’d sweep her off her feet.

Growing up in Kentwood, La., Spears imagined she’d meet and marry a well mannered man, one who would work hard all day and treat her like a princess.

But as In Touch magazine points out in their latest issue, her husband’s lack of manners has her k-fed up. The mag cites a friend of Britney and Kevin Federline with revealing that Britney’s solution is to enroll him in a ‘charm school’ workshop with a Beverly Hills therapist.

More On Baby Drama…Charges Cleared

Pop star Britney Spears and her husband were cleared of any wrongdoing by child welfare agents who visited their home in response to a hospital report of an injury to their infant son, her lawyer said on Wednesday.

The statement from attorney Martin Singer did not give details about the mishap that led to Saturday’s house call by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services, or DCSF.

But according to published accounts by the Los Angeles Times and People magazine, the Saturday visit to Spears’ home in the beachfront enclave of Malibu came after her 6-month-old son, Sean Preston, fell from a high chair and hit his head.

People magazine said the baby slipped from his nanny’s arms and fell to the floor as she was lifting him from the high chair and ’something snapped in the chair.’

A doctor examined the child that day, April 1, at the family’s home, and he seemed fine, the magazine said. But Spears and husband Kevin Federline became concerned and took the child to a hospital emergency room six days later to have him checked again, though no serious problems were found, it said.

‘While there was an automatic report by the hospital to the Department of Children and Family Services, DCFS immediately responded and determined there was no problem and no reason to open a formal investigation,’ Singer’s statement said. ‘They determined that the parents were not involved in any injury and that nothing improper was done within the home.’

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has said its deputies accompanied DCSF agents to the Spears home on Saturday and that the matter was settled at the time of the visit.

In February, sheriff’s deputies visited Spears’ home at the request of child welfare authorities after Spears was photographed driving a car with her son seated on her lap behind the steering wheel.

Spears, 24, later issued a statement saying she had ‘made a mistake’ by failing to strap her son into his car seat, as is required by California law, before pulling out of a parking lot. She said then that she was reacting to a ‘frightful’ encounter with ‘physically aggressive’ paparazzi, although the photo agency that took the pictures disputed her claims that photographers were hounding Spears.

Britney Spears And Son Home Safely

Britney Spears took her son, Sean Preston, to the hospital last week after he fell from his high chair and bumped his head, a source tells PEOPLE.Sean Preston, who will be seven months old on Friday, hit his head when he fell on Saturday, April 1, at the Malibu home Spears shares with husband Kevin Federline. Spears brought the child to be examined that day, then visited another doctor a week later for a second opinion.

Spears, Federline and their son are back home and doing fine, the source tells PEOPLE.

Last Saturday, child welfare officials visited Spears’s home accompanied by a sheriff’s deputy.

CREDIT: FAME’The Department of Children and Family Services called us on Saturday and asked us to accompany them to the home of Mrs. Spears for their visit,’ Los Angeles County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Lt. Debra Glafkides tells PEOPLE. ‘It’s very routine and common for us to accompany them.’

According to Glafkides, the visit lasted about half an hour and no police report was filed.

The Sheriff’s Department could not release any further information, and the Department of Children and Family Services generally does not comment on cases due to confidentiality laws.

Britney Spears’ Parenting Skills Vs. Gravity

Saturday, April 15th, 2006

Star magazine is reporting–in a Britney’s Baby Skull Fracture Exclusive!–that the real reason for the Child and Family Services field trip to the Spears residence on Saturday had nothing to do with The Unsecured Drivers-Side Baby Incident, but was to follow-up on a child-abuse claim filed after the family visited to the hospital after the toddler tumbled from a high chair* and suffered a ’scalp fracture.’

But the Sheriff’s Department has already told TMZ.com that the investigation is closed, perhaps sparing us a wave of catch-up cover stories from the other glossies offering the opinions of Celebrity Baby Elevated Seating Experts opining on how such an accident could transpire in the Spears household.

[* When we wrote earlier that Spears and Federline duct-taped the baby to a high-chair to demonstrate the safety of their home to the investigators, we thought we were making a suitably absurd joke, not offering prescient parenting advice. Please send all donations of rolls of duct-tape and baby-sized helmets to the Spears family in care of their rep, Leslie Sloane Zelnick.]

County Officials Visit Britney Spears Estate In Malibu

Saturday, April 15th, 2006

A sheriff’s deputy joined child welfare officials during a weekend visit to the Malibu estate of pop singer Britney Spears, authorities said Tuesday. There were no details about a possible investigation.

Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services officials asked the Lost Hills sheriff’s station at about 1 p.m. Saturday for a deputy to accompany them to the Spears home, Lt. Debra Glaskides said.

‘It’s a very standard, routine patrol request,’ the lieutenant said. ‘We just roll out with them. We stood by, we took no action, no report or anything.’

The Sheriff’s Department said it was a DCFS matter and it couldn’t release any information. The lieutenant said there may not even be a DCFS investigation, noting it may have been only a welfare check.

Louise Grasmehr, director of the Department of Children and Family Services, didn’t return a telephone message left at her Los Angeles office. The department routinely refuses to discuss cases, citing confidentiality laws.

Telephone and e-mail messages left for Spears’ New York publicist Leslie Sloan weren’t returned.

In February, the Department of Children and Family Services visited the Spears home after publication of photographs showing Spears driving with her then-4-month-old son Sean Preston in her lap, rather than in a car seat as required by law.

The 24-year-old pop star later apologized, saying she did it because of a ‘horrifying, frightful encounter with the paparazzi.’

The incident even caught the attention of U.S. Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta, who chided Spears during a Feb. 13 Philadelphia event marking Child Passenger Safety Week.

‘Recent photos of Britney Spears driving with her infant son on her lap are troubling. And while Ms. Spears has acknowledged her mistake, her actions still send the wrong message to millions of her fans,’ Mineta said.

Kevin’s ex begs Britney to slim

Monday, April 10th, 2006

Pop star Britney Spears has been warned to shape up fast or be dumped by husband Kevin Federline by a previous love of the dancer. Spears has a fuller figure since giving birth to their child Sean Preston last year, but Federline’s ex girlfriend Felicia Cabiero insists he is so image-obsessed his eyes will wander unless the singer loses some weight. Cabiero says, “Kev has always had a problem with people who let themselves go. He was determined that he wouldn’t go that way and wouldn’t be married to a woman who did. “When he wed Britney he was sure he had picked a woman who would stay in killer shape all her life, like Madonna or Demi Moore. They had babies and whipped their figures back into shape practically overnight. But she didn’t seem to care after Sean Preston was born. “She didn’t get back into shape and he can’t figure it out. “It’s a vicious circle. He runs around making her jealous, she gets depressed, overeats and doesn’t work out.”
