Britney Spears and Kevin Federline Nearing a Split?    ·    May 21st, 2006

Reports from the UK are speculating that Britney Spears and Kevin Federline are nearing the end of their marriage. Is a split near?

Victoria Newton writes in the UK Sun that Kevin hasn’t been spending much time parenting at all and notes that it has been weeks since he and Britney were last seen together in public.

Of course Britney has been seen and photographed in public far too much and for all the wrong reasons when it comes to the welfare of their infant son Sean Preston.

Newton opines:

I fear the poor thing is cracking up under the pressure of being married to a total no-hoper. While she is struggling alone with their son in New York, Kevin has been missing no opportunity to hurt her feelings back home in Los Angeles.

Most husbands would want to be by their wife’s side while she fulfils work commitments in the Big Apple and awaits the birth of their second child in October

But Kev appears to see things very differently.

He’s been spending his week living in the lap of luxury — paid for by Britney — wasting his time working on a rap album that’s doomed to fail and partying into the small hours with pals.

I reckon it’s time Britney ditched the freeloading redneck and earned our respect for making a tough decision.

Victoria will have many backers as it certainly does seem that Kevin has been an absentee dad of late.

It is hard to imagine that many will take Federline’s side as Britney seems to almost be a single mom already.

Shouldn’t Kevin be there - she’s obviously under stress.
