Britney Spears drove to Las Vegas Tuesday night (30 Jan 2007) to work through the weekend on her new album at the Palms Casino Resort’s private recording studio.

She will be working with record producer Dr. Luke, who has written hits and produced for the likes of Kelly Clarkson (”Since U Been Gone” and “Behind These Hazel Eyes,”), Pink, Avril Lavigne, Lady Sovereign and Backstree Boys.

According to Lux Life Britney will be laying down two new tracks for the long-awaited album.

Spears’ manager Larry Rudolph confirmed to Usmagazine.com that she’s recording some tracks for her upcoming album (due out this fall) with the Doc the rest of this week at the Palms Casino Resort’s private recording studio.

An insider involved with Britney’s new album said , “She’s working with the best.”

On her first day in Vegas Britney treated herself to a makeover at the AMP Salon inside the Palms. Besides a manicure and pedicure the makeover, under the careful guidance of Hairstylist to the Stars, Michael Boychuck, also included extensions and highlights to go with the recent darker color of her hair.

Britney’s current visit to Vegas differs from her last visit there in many ways. Issac Cohen is not with her, but her two infant sons are. Understandably, she is not staying in the $40,000 a night Hugh Hefner suite, having opted instead for a sky villas in the Palms Fantasy tower.
