I am a huge britney fan and it has to be said that I am so disappointed. I’ve supported brit from way back in the “baby one more time” days and this was the worse performance ever. who let her out of her dressing room like that! I was so ready for the comeback! I love “Gimme more”. How could she do this? She looked out of shape, trashy, scared and didn’t dance well. She didn’t even lip sync well. I wanted to jump in my T.V. set and shake her. Tell her to move, do something, anything! COME ON!!! I have never said a bad thing about her before but Britney, you let me down. You let us all down. all of your fans. We wanted that comeback. We wanted you to smack the taste out of everyone’s mouth at the VMA’s. How could you look so uncomfortable. This is what you were born to do. Were you drinking or on drugs? And why? This was it, your big break and you threw it away. I want to cry for you but you don’t seem to care about yourself. There were so many people routing for you. The only thought that came to mind after that performance was, “It’s offical, Britney’s career is dead.” And I hate sarah silverman for pointing it out to the world and Justin Timberlake, who seemed to not even care! But we all saw it. The train wreck. Why Britney? I believed in you.

The girl could dance. The whole world would be hypnotized by every move that Britney made on stage because the girl could dance, hands down. I’m not sure where her passion has disappeared too. Her performance at the MTV music awards was just so disappointing… I was embarassed for her. We’ve seen her mezmorize crowds of diverse people and do what she does best - entertain. I would hate to be a star today. Britney’s performance may not have been up to par today, but the condescending remarks about her figure, baffle me. If 50% of the North American population looked like her and not like big, fat, overstuffed, gluttenous slobs, Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers and all other diet programs and pills and such, would be out of business. I think people should look in the mirror, reflect on their own behaviours and images, rather than criticize someone else. Get a life people!

Okay, okay, so we have all seen the performance so many have dubbed “the train wreck” and “the Britney bomb” by this point. I would like to point out that it’s very peculiar to me that right as her song began, she seemed to kind of laugh, as if she knew something we all didn’t, and then smiled randomly again in the middle of the performance and finally ast the end.
In the VMA pre show, three people were asked who they would like to see that night (Diddy, 50 Cent, and Paris) all of whom where with Britney, partying it up prior to the VMAs. Now, as would be sensible, I would imagine that Brit would have confided in these people, some mental glimpse of the performance (or intentional lack thereof). At each one of there questionings, they all seemed to also know something, through smercky smiles and strange glances.
Lets think for a minute, this is Britney Spears, someone who we will always be interested in seeing, and the way press is working, bad acts and situations seem to get you more publicity (like if someone had an album coming up in 2 months) than the good.
Soo, assuming bad publicity gets you more viewers, and more people attracted to your story, who otherwise would have not cared about you either way, it almost seems like a bad VMA performance (which is an awards show that does not hold the merit of the likes of the Grammys) would potentially be a great P.R. move; generate more interest and buzz. I don’t know about anyone else, but I, myself am just happy to have seen her on stage again, bad or not, and now I’m craving a great performance, in fact,I’m looking forward to it.
during her performance, it just seemeed like her mistakes were too rehearsed, they didn’t seem like genuine accidents or miscalculations to me. I actually believe, that she has comitted the best publicity stunt to date; I mean, we’re all talking about it, and thats the buzz you need going around before your album hits the shelves. I just don’t think someone as experienced in the music industry, and who has just done small performaces at clubs with excellence, would unintentionally make a disaster out of such a broadcasted stage. I think she’s working the publicity, and playing off her lead song “Gimme More”; we’ve gotten a taste of Brit on stage, and whether people want to admit it or not, we want her to give us more. Only time will tell. My prayers and best wishes are with you Brit, I love you!!!! Get ‘em Girl!!!

I have been a big Britney fan since Hit Me One More Time. I thought the VMA performance wans’t bad at all. I’ve heard comments “she just stopped singing at points,” during most performances artists do have a track playing in the background. On her track she is singing two parts, obviously she can only sing one part at a time. She didn’t mess up. She knows how to perform, she is beautiful and very talented. People need to be a friend and more supportive instead of just waiting to see her fall and putting her down. The real sad thing is that the people that say bad things about Brit are really insecure or dissapointed in their own lives. They need to get one of their own. First of all, I have never been a big Britney fan, but I have 3 main comments. #1 - She is far from fat, she is very firm, still very young and at most if you’re going to be in the public eye and make millions off of fans/marketing.. if you’re still losing the baby fat in the belly area, then she could’ve simply worn a more discreet outfit that could’ve been sexy as well. Secondly, yes she was on drugs/alcohol and that part is a disgrace. At least so much as to do so when you’re going to perform for the masses inclusive of your peers. Thirdly, it makes me sick that these “entertainers” make oodles of $$$ and live lives so full of excess. Sadly, it definitely shows that all the money, the best hairdressers, makeup artists, personal trainers, shopping sprees, jet setting around the world, body sculpting surgeons and all the bling bling, simply do not make a human being truly happy….
