First brand new momma Brit nixed the sale of the Britney Spears baby pictures after allegedly ‘freaking out’ about the possibility of overexposing baby Sean Preston.  Then she went after some fan web sites that had already posted the Britney baby photos online with her attorneys.

She threatened legal action against them – and anyone who published the pics and claimed they were stolen.

Now a report from Life & Style hints that Brit may be overwhelmed by motherhood and even says Brit is having ‘dark thoughts’ that something awful may happen to her baby according to a source cited by the tabloid.

“I’m so nervous I’m not doing things right,” Britney reportedly told a friend.  Though her rep insists that she’s fine the report also says the new mom worries that baby Sean Preston might be kidnapped.

So – is this post-partum depression or just a really famous new mom being just a bit overly cautious?

A licensed therapist cited by the magazine that does not treat the pop princess says that this type of obsession and quick irritability are two signs of post-partum depression.

New motherhood is tough enough without being incredibly famous and having the paparazzi scouting you and your new baby’s every move.

And the article adds – hubby Kevin Federline’s behavior of partying and his lack of patience for Brit and her feelings isn’t helping matters.

The solution is likely simple enough – Brit needs to get back in shape – get on stage and perform – and get back to work.

Reports are she’s well on her way to that goal.
