We were eagerly anticipating Britney Spears’ statement regarding infant son Sean Preston’s recent head injury, in which the Crossroads star would tearfully explain that the high chair dropped the child only because it was frightened by overaggressive paparazzi. Sadly, the real statement, issued by non-tearful Spears attorney Martin Singer, was a bit of a letdown. ‘(The California Department of Child and Family Services) immediately responded and determined there was no problem and no reason to open a formal investigation,’ Associated Press reported. ‘They determined that the parents weren’t involved in the injury and nothing was improper within the home.’ To recap: The injury was accidental, and Spears, who was visited by state investigators in February after enlisting Sean Preston’s help as a laptop co-pilot, is - officially - not a bad mother. |
