Britney Spears’ cousin/friend/former assistant Alli Sims’ hope of getting herself a TV career out of her relationship with Brit-Brit has been shattered, an insider tells Life & Style.

Maloof Productions, run by the family that owns the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and the Sacramento Kings basketball team, had planned to produce an Entourage-style reality show with Alli as the star. But the Maloofs have suddenly changed their minds.

“While Britney was being hospitalized in LA, Alli, her supposed best friend, was self-promoting in NYC. She was flown in for meetings to draw attention to her career — including her reality show. Only problem is, it’s not happening,” the insider says.

Britney’s family is accusing Dr. Phil McGraw of violating their trust by making public statements about his hospital visit with the troubled pop star and his call for her to receive therapy.

Family spokesman Lou Taylor, a business manager for mother Lynne and daughter Jamie Lynn Spears, appeared on Wednesday’s Today show and also said that at no time had the family planned to do a show with McGraw, despite his statements about such a program. (McGraw later said the scheduled episode would not go on as originally planned.)

“It was decided it would be detrimental to ever do that,” said Taylor, who described McGraw’s request for such a show in the first place to be “self-serving.” She also said that McGraw has now “compromised” Lynne and Jamie Lynn’s relationship with Britney.

Taylor confirmed that McGraw had been sent to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Saturday to meet with Britney at the request of the family, and that Lynne Spears and McGraw’s wife, Robin, know one another.

LAPD officers slapped Britney Spears with a temporary restraining order last Thursday night during her custody standoff, People magazine has learned exclusively.

Called an “emergency protective order,” it is enforced for five business days. Officers did it to “stabilize the situation,” confirmed Kevin Federline’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan.

Kaplan, who did not request the restraining order, declined to say whether he would seek to extend it.

“The person it’s placed upon would have to stay approximately 100 feet from the other person, or face arrest,” says LAPD spokesman Mike Lopez, who could not confirm the restraining order on Spears. “In most cases, it’s issued by officers when there’s the possibility of imminent and immediate danger to the victim.”

A lovely and happy looking Britney and her kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James, grace the cover of the new issue of OK! Magazine.

Sources tell Perez Hilton the pictures in the magazine were taken just a few weeks ago.

We’re told these are the pictures from that photographer Spears hired to take pictures of her and her sons. They were supposed to be for her private holiday cards, but the snapper was not forced to sign a confidentiality agreement and was able to sell the pictures for profit.

Sources tell ET that Britney spoke with a British accent during her stay at Cedars-Sinai hospital last Friday. While Dr. Phil wouldn’t comment on that during our exclusive interview with him, he did say that the troubled pop star needs to be in treatment.

“She needs to be in in-patient care for a period of time,” he advises. “Is she having a rough time right now? Yes, she is. Why? I’m not really going to go into that at this point. But I can tell you this is a good person and I truly believe she’ll get back to being a good person.”

The photographer who gave Britney Spears a lift to her Studio City home after she abandoned her car with a flat tire Monday night has detailed their brief ride together, saying the pop star spent most of the ride sending text messages.

“She broke out her cell phone and was sending text messages the entire time,” the pap Fabricio Mariotto, who works for photo agency x17, says on their Web site.

He also says the singer put on Timbaland’s “Shock Value,” got quiet when asked about spending time with Adnan Ghalib, and that she invited the photographer inside once they reached her house.

At one point during the ride, Mariotto snapped his fingers and said to Spears: “Hey, girl, are you alright?” then told her not to worry. Spears’s reaction? She laughed, according to the account.

Just as Mr. Blackwell spared Britney from his annual and infamous worst-dressed list, PETA has pulled the troubled pop star from their style poll.

Spears was leading PETA’s recently launched worst-dressed celebrity poll, but organizers have removed her from the running in light of her hospitalization over the weekend.

“At this point, Britney needs a break – from everybody. Maybe when her head is clear, she’ll have a change of heart about wearing fur. If not, we’ll be back biting at her heels,” PETA Senior Vice President Dan Mathews said in a statement.
