Britney Loses Visitation Rights

Britney lost her child-visitation rights Friday following her 72-hour lockdown for a mental evaluation.

Kevin Federline is “awarded sole legal custody and sole physical custody of the minor children,” court Commissioner Scott Gordon said in a written ruling after an emergency hearing.

Gordon said Spears’s “visitation with the minor children is suspended pending further order of the court.”

The order is in effect until Jan. 14.

After the 40-minute hearing, Federline’s attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan said: “There are no winners here.”

He said he was “not happy about any of the events that have happened.”

Mom Lynne SpeaksBritney Spears’s mother is asking for “prayers” following the news of her daughter’s hospitalization.

On Friday, Lynne Spears was “extremely distraught” on the phone, and said, “Just say prayers,” when reached by Access Hollywood.

Lynne, who’s been in constant contact with Britney, and 16-year-old sister Jamie Lynn have been in seclusion following the December bombshell that Jamie Lynn is pregnant. The two were spotted Friday afternoon arriving at their home in Kentwood, La., from an undisclosed location.

Meanwhile, the whole family is “terrified” about the situation, a source close to the family tells People magazine. “Everyone has been worried for some time,” says the source. “Her world has been crumbling around her and this is another call for help. Her parents are just devastated. Nobody knows if they can take much more, but they’re trying to be as strong as they can.”

Spears’s father Jamie was at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Thursday night, and her older brother Bryan was expected to show up Friday, according to a source.

Britney on 72-Hour Mental LockdownBritney Spears was placed on lockdown for a mental evaluation Friday after the pop star locked herself in a room with one of her children at her L.A. home and refused to hand him over to ex-husband Kevin Federline.

A source tells PEOPLE it was the pop star’s court-appointed child monitor who called police. “She had already put Preston in the car when Britney locked herself in a room with Jayden,” says the source. “The cops came and got through the door and tied her down to a gurney.”

Spears, who according to police appeared to be “under the influence of an unknown substance,” was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where the source says she will be on a minimum of a 72-hour lock down for mental evaluation.

The evaluation, known as a “5150 Hold,” is, according to the medical code, “When any person, as a result of mental disorder, is a danger to others, or to himself or herself, or gravely disabled.” The “mobile crisis team” is able to make this recommendation in writing and take a patient be evaluated and treated.

Britney
’s former bodyguard Tony Barretto was worried about her mental health from the moment he started working for her, but he feared he would not be believed if he alerted child protection officers.

Tony, who gave a declaration to court during Britney’s recent custody hearing with Kevin Federline, told the News of the World: “I’ve been concerned about her erratic behavior from day one.

“I couldn’t stand by and let the kids stay around her any longer.

“She has mental problems, and they are not helped by her taking drugs and alcohol.

Britney Charged with Hit-and-Run and Driving Without License

Britney Spears Hit and RunBritney Spears has been charged with hit-and-run causing property damage and driving without a valid license, the Los Angeles City Attorney said Friday.

The charges stem from a fender-bender in a store parking lot on Aug. 6. Spears, 25, made a wide, right turn into a parking space and scraped another car’s bumper. (The incident was captured on video by celebrity photo agency X17.)

“According to the DMV, Ms. Spears was never issued a California license – ever,” City Attorney’s spokesman Frank Mateljan tells People mag.

The other car’s owner filed a police report at a North Hollywood station.

Her arraignment is set for Oct. 10 in a Van Nuys, Calif., court. If convicted on both misdemeanor charges, she faces up to a year in jail, Mateljan says.

Pasadena attorney Richard Hutton, best known for representing Paris Hilton in her probation-violation case earlier this year, says California residents must get a California driver’s license within their first 10 days as a resident.
